Artist At Home : Kory Kruckenberg
I admit, I had not met Kory until after he won his Grammy. Then I found out that he played in two bands in Seattle, Pablo Trucker and the rising star that is Pickwick. Although he did not win his Grammy for playing music he won for sound engineering. He runs an amazing recording studio out of his home called vu. recording, which has housed and recorded some of the biggest names to come out of Seattle ( Bazan, Pecknold, and Enigk ). Sadly he will be moving out of this house (It's being torn down) that has been passed down through the Seattle music scene for over the last 20 years. Kory and I, with the help of some friends are going to put together a little film about this house. I can't wait to work with him. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but Dylan Priest's are worth at least a solid 1,500.
His story began as a small child growing up in Kansas, when, according to his mother, he once produced a crayon drawing stating that he would grow up to be a photographer. He has never seen this drawing, but that did not keep it from becoming a binding contract on his life, and a felicitous one at that.
